Western Australia Week Celebrations
The activities organised by Stacey Young and her team were a great success. The students had a marvellous time participating in the games that were played in school yards many years ago. The whole school campus photos taken by the drone look amazing! A big thank you to Stacey for organising the drone to take all the photos of our wonderful students and staff in the outline of W A. Can you find your child?

Joondalup Student Award
Chloe is a very conscientious student who tries her best in all subject areas. She works well with her friends and enjoys celebrating their successes with them. Chloe is a kind, caring and thoughtful student who is always looking for ways that she can help other students. She has a 'heart of gold' and we are so lucky she is a member of our class. Congratulations, Chloe.
Mathematics Award
Owen displays amazing Mathematics skills and is always full of enthusiasm. He enjoys applying his knowledge of numbers to solve more complex problems with accuracy. Owen displays an exceptional ability to complete mental Mathematics tasks with confidence. Owen should feel very proud of what a brilliant Mathematician he is.
School Guidelines Updates
In light of our full day Professional Development on Friendly Schools on Friday 31st May, we are currently revising and updating our Behavior Management Guidelines and our whole school Health document to reflect some of the Friendly Schools strategies.
Last day of school term
The last day of the school term is Friday 5th July. We will then return to school on Monday 22nd July.
School Photos
School photos are complete. It usually takes a few weeks for Kapture to process and return the photos. I expect they will arrive at the school early next term.
Canteen
Our campus canteen manager Carolyn will be taking long service leave from Monday 24th June until Tuesday 6th August. The canteen will remain open on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays during these dates, however will be closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Ongoing Parking issues
Over the past week we have met with members from both the City of Joondalup and the Department of Education to discuss solutions to the parking congestion around the school in mornings and afternoons. A number of options were discussed, and many ideas were not possible because of road rules, and the verge space required. Ideas that have been accepted for further possible planning include;
- Extension of the current car parking bays at Windemere Oval
- An additional 2 ACROD bays in the staff car park
- 90 degree parking along Jolstra Ave – outside E Block
- Redesigning the current E Block staff carpark to allow for more staff bays (this will alleviate street parking)
- Researching the possibility of angled parking on Blue Mountain Drive and at Jolstra Ave (near basketball court)
We will continue to keep you updated with developments as they become available.
Flus and Colds Season
From time to time children do get sick. It is sometimes unavoidable. When your child is sick please base your decision on keeping your child at home with the health of other students and staff in mind. It is best to avoid spreading germs and bugs at school and allowing your child to rest and recuperate before sending them back to school.
Annual Report
The school’s 2018 Annual Report is available on the school’s web page, click on the link to read the report.

School Reports
On Thursday 4th July, your child’s report will be emailed to you. Please ensure that you have provided the school with your current email address.

If your child arrives late 5 or more times in a term, you will receive a letter. The doors are open from 8.35am so that your child can get organised for the day.
