Sustainability Corner

Sustainability Images.JPG

The after school garden club is up and running, with many activities already undertaken. We have weeded the beds, filled them with soil and planted seeds. Over the next few weeks we will nurture these seeds in our wonderful glasshouse and then plant them out. We have also begun to plant our vertical gardens with succulents. Take a look near the office. The students and parents loved picking herbs and making herb scones in the frypan. The verdict was, “Delicious”.

It is great to see classes out and about in the garden during lessons. The garden is a great space to learn in.

Don't forget.jpg

Fill in the form below if you would like to join this club.  Kindy and Pre Primary children will need an adult to attend with them. The club will run from Week 2 to and finish in Week 9.

Our recycling programs near the front office have now recommenced

Please continue to bring in:

  • Batteries
  • Dental hygiene packaging including toothbrushes
  • Coffee pods (make sure they are DRY)
  • Ring pulls from cans of drink (collection point is in the library)
  • Plastic bottle tops/bread bag tags (leave on the Grow Free Cart)

Remember that our Grow Free Cart is set up near the office.

"How does the cart work?" We have a simple answer: you give what you can, and take what you need. There are no prices, no bartering, no trading, no value. Like you would for family and loved ones.

What can I put on the carts?

  • Homegrown or homemade produce: fruit, veg, herbs, preserves, eggs, etc
  • Preferably grown with organic principles, (without toxins) seeds, seedlings, cuttings and rootstock (Please label all, and heirloom seeds are best)
  • All things gardening, whether it be gardening magazines, planters, worm tea, etc,
  • Jars, paper bags and small boxes for seeds or produce.

Tip – Check the UV index before heading out into the winter sun. You may still need your hat.
