Magpie/Koorlbardie
Earlier in the year the students in Rooms 18 and 19 sculptured a Magpie/Koorlbardie in flight from clay. Two pinch pots were made and joined together. The sphere was shaped into the body. A tail, beak, eyes and wings were then added. This term they glazed their artwork and it was fired.

Fish
The students in Year 1 created fish using clay. They rolled four different size pieces of clay into spheres and then flattened them. Texture was added to the clay using a variety of textured objects. The pieces were then joined together. An eye and mouth were added. Once fired the students selected coloured underglazes to paint the fish in. A clear glaze was painted over the top to seal in the colour.

Splat the Cat
During Book Week the Year 1 students enjoyed listening to the story of "Splat the Cat" by Rob Scotton.
The students worked with the elements of shape and texture to paint Splat in black acrylic. The eyes nose and inner ears were cut out and pasted on. Finally, the belly was painted with pink acrylic.

Moving Figures
Faction Carnival Week is always exciting. The students in Room 8 used a stick as part of the stick man's body and tried to capture movement. The backgound was painted in acrylic in their faction colour.
